crafty crafty

All packed up and ready! Just a quick reminder for those of you in the Portland area ... I'll be at Crafty Wonderland tomorrow at the Doug Fir. It's free and goes from 11-4. The address is 830 E Burnside. Hope to see you there...

I had an etsy customer ask if I could gift wrap some stationery to send to a friend. Here's what the package looked like. I have drawers full of Japanese washi and I love to use it when I can. Just ask me if you'd like a gift wrapped – I love putting together pretty packages!

I met you at the craft fair and just wanted to say that you have a beautiful website and blog. I am excited that i discovered your amazing work and plan on buying lots of cards for christmas gifts! Also, I read about Liam and your home studio and just want to say you are truly an inspiration and one of the folks that make Portland such an amazing city. I really admire you. well done all around.

i wish i were in oregon... sigh... and thanks for the response! I am actually currently attending university across the bay at Berkeley, but I will look into taking some classes. I'd really like to get into letterpress and silk screens actually. And it seems San Francisco offers classes for both! :) Do you by any chance know if the place you recommended has a website? Also, thanks for the suggestions for where I can possibly find a letterpress or tabletop (what's the difference between the two? do they still have the same effect?). And what's the general range? I probably can't afford one now but that's what jobs are for!

Thanks again for responding to my questions. I will be sure to keep watching this blog as well as your site.

Hi Shirley,

Sorry it's taken me a bit of time to respond to this. Still, if it's helpful here are some links for you. The SF Center for the book is online at www.sfcb.org. You can read up on all things letterpress at www.briarpress.org – you'll be able to find details about tabletop presses versus floor models.

Best of luck,

Lynn
