what's to come + other updates

Hello friends. Things are still fairly busy for me with Etsy shop orders and Crafty Wonderland coming up this Sunday. This will be my last sale for the year, though I plan to ship orders for Etsy through the end of next week. I'm so happy to be able to say that there are only 15 calendars left of the 200 printed – a huge thank you to those of you that have purchased one! And, if you still want one, I don't think they'll last much longer so click on over to buy one here. Also, a few designs are on sale right now in an effort to make room for things to come.

This has been a really wonderful year – I only began printing and designing again in earnest last February – and I've been so astonished by the warm welcome. I am looking forward to a little break after the holidays, but I am also so excited by a few projects in the works for the new year.

One such collaboration is with Yu I who creates some of the loveliest work I know. I cannot wait to get started. It'll be sometime early in the New Year and I will keep you posted on the progress. I absolutely love the shape and form and movement in her pieces and am thrilled that we will be working together soon. I had no idea when I started this blog and this online presence with Etsy and my website that they would all lead to new friendships and inspirations. Hurrah for this!!

baking cookies

We baked cookies over the weekend: peanut butter cookies with Liam doing the necessary hatch marks and a new one taken from
this blog. Buckwheat butter cookies with cocoa nibs – so delicious! I'm not really a cookie person, but these are so good, especially if you let them sit a couple days or more. Seriously, hop to it – these cookies, though not all that pretty, are the best.

satsuma weddings

I wrote, a while back now, that I had been printing samples of the Satsuma Press Wedding Line and that I'd post pictures. So, at long last, with a slight lull in my schedule – here they are! Just some sneak peeks of the following designs: gingko, flowering rush, narcissus and flora. I realize these all have the same text and information {from my own wedding}, but it's simplifies everything to use this – not everyone wants their names up on the world wide web, after all! If you are getting married or know someone who is, you can see the slide-shows here on my website.

In the meantime, I've been printing thank you notes for all my lovely customers, to go out in the mail sometime between now and the new year. Maybe it's crazy to do this, maybe this will be the only year it can be done ... but I'm doing it! And I've been re-stocking inventory for the upcoming Crafty Wonderland on December 16th at Norse Hall here in Portland. That'll be my last sale of the year.

The calendars have been steadily marching out the door, too – thank you everyone!!

saturday morning + maple leaves

A cold Saturday here in Portland – with snow, even, though not much. This is my newest knitting project with the succulent that I bought {for myself} from Quince at the Studio Olivine Holiday Sale. Isn't it lovely? I seem only to be able to do the mindless sort of knitting projects, like neck warmers, these days ...

And here are more photos of the Maple Leaves piece that I wrote about yesterday. Enjoy!!
