mailbox monthly

Hello again. I haven't been here in about a month. I think I want to be back, but it's been hard for a lot of different reasons. I've been trying to get caught up in the studio – and there are a lot of projects and changes to talk about. I don't know where to start. I want to write more about how this month has been and I also don't want to. It's so intensely personal, really. The loss we've experienced is enormous, though we go on, which is both difficult and good.

So, to begin, I guess I'll just tell you about a new project I have been thinking about for a while. It's called the Satsuma Press Mailbox Monthly and I am really excited about it. Click on the image above to read the details. I'm going to open subscriptions to it soon – maybe in October? – but I'll need to limit it to fifty participants to begin with. I'm just trying to keep it manageable and enjoyable for myself, so fifty it is for now. I'll post again when I'm ready to start accepting subscriptions. The first month will be January 2010, although you'll be able to sign up before then.

Coming up, sometime soon – a new press for the studio and the 2010 calendar.

hello again

It's been a hard three weeks. I'm trying to return to the studio tomorrow. I am hoping the focus will be a good thing, not to mention that I am pretty behind now. I've got a wedding job to print and those 2010 calendars, too. I've been having a hard time focusing, really, though I guess that's to be expected. You know the back and forth of printing? I usually really like that, the way it allows my mind to wander – but, truth be told, when I printed a week and a half ago, I found it gave me too much time with my own thoughts.

I finally put the FALLING print up in my two shops. It's a lovely print, very peaceful.

I'm happy to be included on the Heath Ceramics website now, in the wedding vendors section!

I don't know that I'm ready to be back here very often, but I'll certainly post about the 2010 calendar once I begin printing. All the photopolymer plates are here – and the paper, too. I just need to find that focus again.
